Wii Fit Plus

I bought a Wii Fit Plus yesterday! I had a Wii Fit before (I actually pre-ordered it and got it the very day it came out) but I got bored of it and sold it. I saw the commercials for the new one, and I was wanting to play it again so I caved.

It's actually a LOT more fun! There are more games, all of the old games are unlocked so you can play whatever you like, and there are calorie counters and other new features. I played it for over an hour today and got a decent workout! I think if I played more of the aerobic games longer it would have been better, but I was hooked on the bubble balance game.

Oh well, I plan to go snowboarding tomorrow so I can't get myself too sore! Snowboarding will do that enough as is!

Rice and Veggies for Dinner!

As a vegetarian, rice is a staple. I eat a LOT of rice! So I'm always after new ways of kicking up the flavour and trying something new. I received a rice cooker for Christmas, and I've been dying to try it, so tonight I finally did! Here is what I came up with...

I chopped up some peppers, celery, mushrooms, onion and minced one clove of garlic

Set it aside in a bowl

I'm using brown basmatic rice

I measured out my rice and added the water

Then I added the veggies

I added some seasonings (no amount in particular!)

Stirred it all up!

Left it to cook for 35 minutes

Added the frozen veggies to the steamer for 10 minutes

Dinner is served!

It was super good!

One Year To Your Best Self

I'm jumping on the train! Jillian's that is, on ReShaping your life and turning into the best you. Check out her blog here!

My goals are much the same as hers. I want to workout more and eat better, cook meals at home from fresh ingredients. I want to read more and spend less time plopped down in front of the computer or tv aimlessly surfing to pass the time. I want to get in control of my finances... finally get rid of that debt monster and start a savings. I want to start traveling and spending less money on junk I don't need.

It's a new year and a new decade, a great time to change and resolve. I talk to people years older than I, and they tell me of things they wish they could have done when they were my age. Places they should have gone. Things they should have not wasted time on. I want to make this year, this decade, mine. I want to make it count.
